Our Single Life
Formerly: a completely unserious, intentionally pathetic visual diary of a single guy living alone in Philadelphia with a cat named Scuz.
Currently: a visual catalog of fictional characters depicting typical single lifestyles.

Things have changed.
So, this blog was created to keep me shooting during an emotional rut and creative lull. In art school, they always tell you to “shoot what you know” or “draw what you know.” At the time, all I knew (in a melodramatic fashion) was “being single.” Thus, the blog was born with laughter and a mild dose of depression.
Several years later…I find myself with a girlfriend. You can attribute that fact to the lack of posts the past few months. While the relationship itself is fairly new, this lady has been around for a few months and, well…things are just lovely. She’s pretty great.
So, with one half of the blog’s purpose erased, but with the other still somewhat remaining, I’m changing slightly the aim of this photo blog, from my own single life to single life in general. Most of the coming posts will likely be of fictional people in stereotypical single lifestyles.
The first one, as you’ll see, is highly appropriate for my life. I hope you enjoy.
I had a dinner date tonight. When she got up to use the bathroom, the woman seated at the table beside us handed me this poem written on a napkin, then got up and walked out.
Rebooting my Shower Series again for maybe the fifth time. I always start this project off with a self portrait. This was obviously an outtake.
